Dallas U-Visas Lawyers

Representing Immigrant-Victims of Crimes

At Perdomo Dorsett Immigration Law, we are committed to using our skills and knowledge of the law to help clients petition for visas so they can remain in the United States. If you were the victim of a crime and meet certain criteria, you might be able to secure a U-visa that will allow you to stay in the U.S with legal work status for up to four years. If you are awarded a U-visa, you can also apply for permanent residence status after three years. Spouses, children, and certain other family members can sometimes be included under a U-visa.

Purpose of the U Visa

The U nonimmigrant visa was established by Congress to encourage alien immigrants who have been victims of certain crimes to come forward and report criminal activity to law enforcement. In exchange for reporting crimes that can help the government investigate and prosecute criminals, the victims would be provided protections under the U visa for the individual and qualifying family members.
